Discrete PT −symmetric models of scattering
نویسنده
چکیده
One-dimensional scattering mediated by non-Hermitian Hamiltonians is studied. A schematic set of models is used which simulate two point interactions at a variable strength and distance. The feasibility of the exact construction of the amplitudes is achieved via the discretization of the coordinate. By direct construction it is shown that in all our models the probability is conserved. This feature is tentatively attributed to the spaceand time-reflection symmetry (a.k.a. PT −symmetry) of our specific Hamiltonians.

Dilations, models, scattering and spectral problems of 1D discrete Hamiltonian systems
In this paper, the maximal dissipative extensions of a symmetric singular 1D discrete Hamiltonian operator with maximal deficiency indices (2,2) (in limit-circle cases at ±∞) and acting in the Hilbert space ℓ_{Ω}²(Z;C²) (Z:={0,±1,±2,...}) are considered. We consider two classes dissipative operators with separated boundary conditions both at -∞ and ∞. For each of these cases we establish a self...
متن کاملScattering of the discrete solitons on the PT -symmetric defects
We study the propagation of linear waves and solitons in an array of optical waveguides with an embedded defect created by a pair of waveguides with gain and loss satisfying the socalled parity-time (PT ) symmetry condition. We demonstrate that in the case of small soliton amplitudes, the linear theory describes the scattering of solitons with a good accuracy. We find that the incident high-amp...
متن کاملSe p 20 06 Eigenvalue problems with complex PT - symmetric Potential : V ( x ) = igx
The spectrum of complex PT-symmetric potential, V (x) = igx, is known to be null. We enclose this potential in a hard-box: V (|x| ≥ 1) = ∞ and in a softbox: V (|x| ≥ 1) = 0. In the former case, we find real discrete spectrum and the exceptional points of the potential. The asymptotic eigenvalues behave as En ∼ n. The solvable purely imaginary PT-symmetric potentials vanishing asymptotically kno...

متن کاملOvercritical PT -symmetric square well potential in the Dirac equation
We study scattering properties of a PT -symmetric square well potential with real depth larger than the threshold of particle-antiparticle pair production as the time component of a vector potential in the Dirac equation. Spontaneous pair production inside the well becomes tiny beyond the strength at which discrete bound states with real energies disappear, consistently with a spontaneous break...
